Gracie Bullyproof®

Junior Grapplers - Our Training for 6 to 13-Year-Olds

Training every Monday from 17:15 - 18:15.

What is the Gracie Bullyproof Program?

When children bully others, they are called “bullies.” The “Gracie Bullyproof” program gives your child the confidence and techniques needed to defend against such bullies.

Fighting Fire with Water

Children often do not defend themselves verbally unless they feel capable of defending themselves physically. This is where Jiu-Jitsu comes in: our techniques enable a child to control a bully without using punches or kicks and without injuring them.

Techniques are important, the only thing more important is that we teach the children when to and when not to use them.

Verbal Jiu-Jitsu” is an integral part of the regular curriculum. We have developed a series of role-playing exercises to teach children to recognize and handle the most common situations related to verbal harassment and interpersonal bullying. Gracie Bullyproof students learn to distinguish between bullying and joking, and to use direct eye contact and confident body language to prevent a bully from targeting them.

In our “Junior Grapplers” program (ages 6-13), we focus on 33 non-violent self-defense techniques that help children neutralize a bully. Your child needs no prior experience, and we guarantee a noticeable increase in your child’s confidence within a few weeks!

“Push Teaching” vs. “Pull Teaching”

The teaching methods used in the Gracie Bullyproof program differ from all others in Brazilian Jiu-Jitsu (BJJ). Not only are all beginner techniques presented in the form of Jiu-Jitsu games to keep children excited about learning them, but we also use “Push Teaching” instead of “Pull Teaching.” When a child makes a mistake, we do not focus on the mistake, but emphasize the correctly executed aspects. Through this carefully layered positive reinforcement, we help children reach their full potential without jeopardizing their love for martial arts.

Gracie Character Development Program

The Gracie Character Development Program helps children develop their character in all areas of life. It consists of six chapters: Responsibility, Health, Respect, Social Behavior, Manners, and Caring. We dedicate two months to each chapter. In each training session, we discuss the featured character trait and emphasize the simple things your child can do to make it a part of their life. The key to success lies in our unique points-based reward system, which we tie to participation in the Gracie Game Day, a special two-hour party where children play many games with all the instructors and other children. Only children who earn enough points during the two-month chapter qualify to participate in the Gracie Game Day, making it a powerful incentive for children and a useful tool for parents to encourage positive behavior at home and school.

Black Belt Club (By Invitation Only)

We invite children who have outgrown the Jr. Grapplers program to join the Black Belt Club. This is our most advanced youth Jiu-Jitsu program, and joining the Black Belt Club is the highest honor for any young Gracie Jiu-Jitsu student. Children in this program possess all the qualities necessary for success on the path to a black belt: discipline, respect, courage, leadership, loyalty, and compassion.

Free Online Access & Free Satellite Training

When you enroll your child in the Gracie Bullyproof program, you receive a free subscription to Gracie Bullyproof Online. Through our interactive online learning program, you have access to detailed video instructions for every technique in the course. This allows you to review techniques with your child or learn new techniques from home! Additionally, if your family takes a vacation near a Certified Training Center (CTC), your child can attend classes for up to 30 consecutive days for free! You can find a current list of all CTCs worldwide here on the Gracie University website .

10-Day Free Training

Most BJJ schools limit new students to a free trial class. We offer all children a 10-day free trial period. We are confident that the curriculum, camaraderie, and quality of instruction will exceed all your expectations.
